Debra Layne is originally from Oklahoma and moved to Colorado in 1977. She is married to a classmate and physical therapist, Ted Layne. She has two sons, Todd and Scott. Ms. Layne, PT enjoys flying as a private pilot, as well as skiing, hiking, reading and travel. She has been practicing physical therapy in Boulder since 1977, and is on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Boulder Valley Schools.
Medical Training and Specialty:
She received her degree from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in Physical Therapy in 1975. In 1992 she was acknowledged as the PHYSICAL THERAPIST OF THE YEAR by the Colorado Physical Therapy Association. Ms. Layne, PT is specialized in orthopedic physical therapy, post-operative rehabilitation, sports physical therapy, work injury rehabilitation, vestibular (balance and dizziness) rehabilitation, TMJ treatment, treatment of headaches, peripheral neuropathy treatment, and orthotics for the feet. She has attended well over 175 post-graduate courses in physical therapy and has lectured and taught courses for other physical therapists.

Ms. Layne is a past-President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. She is currently President of Colorado Physical Therapy Network. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Alliance for Physical Therapy. Ms. Layne is the Managing Member and Owner of North Boulder Physical Therapy providing therapeutic services at two locations: 3000 Center Green Drive, Suite 110 and at 2750 Broadway in the Boulder Medical Center. Ms. Layne, PT is a co-owner with Julie Byrt, PT of Coal Creek Physical Therapy in Louisville located at 315 South Boulder Road, Suite 100.

 | Ted Layne, PT, ATC
Ted is both a physical therapist and an athletic trainer. He started his ATC career at West Texas University (1976-1977). He then became the Head Athletic Trainer for the University of Colorado (1977-1983). Ted founded Flatirons Physical Therapy (1983-1997) and then started DIA Physical Therapy (1997 to present).
Ted has served as a trainer for CU, the Olympics, Pro Rodeo, and numerous other groups.
He enjoys working with child athletes and has coached baseball and basketball teams.
He evaluates and treats a variety of orthopedic and sports patients at North Boulder Physical Therapy three days a week (2002-present). He specializes in PT for the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, ankle, neck, back, and post-operative care. Total joint replacement rehabilitation is a special interest. Anodyne Therapy for orthopedic conditions is another new area of expertise for him.
Ted enjoys seeing his returning patients from Flatirons PT and welcomes new patients.

 | Ed Peskin, PT
Ed has been practicing physical therapy since 1993. He is a graduate of New York University and relocated from New York to Colorado in 1995. His wife, Nicole, also works as a physical therapist at North Boulder Physical Therapy. Together, they have two very energetic boys, Sean and Connor. Ed's focus of treatment is on manual therapy techniques for spine, rib and pelvic dysfunctions.
Outside of work, Ed finds relaxation in woodworking, carpentry, and pottery. In the clinic he is known for his reputation of being able to "fix anything" that is broken. Recreationally, Ed likes mountain biking, skiing, and playing softball.

 | Denise Baugh, MSPT
Professional Experience:
Denise received a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from The Colorado College, then went on to receive a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She received her vestibular certification from the Herdman Institute in 2003. She is currently working on her Manual Therapy Certification through the North American Institute of Manual Therapists. She has been practicing at North Boulder Physical Therapy since 1998. Prior to that she was the Director of Physical Therapy at the Headache and Neurological Rehabilitation Institute of Colorado. She has also been an instructor in the Physical Therapy Aide program at PIMA Medical Institute.
Denise specializes in vestibular rehabilitation, treatment of headaches, TMJ treatment, rehabilitation for neurological conditions (including stroke, brain injury, MS, CP), post-operative rehabilitation (orthopedic and neurological), rehabilitation after motor vehicle or work injury, and general orthopedic rehabilitation. Throughout the years Denise has attended continuing education courses that further her knowledge of treatment techniques.
Denise is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists, vestibular association and the State of Colorado Physical Therapy Advisory Committee- physical therapist consultant. Past member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Colorado chapter research committee.
Personal activities:
When Denise is not practicing physical therapy, she keeps active. In her free time she enjoys sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, swimming, biking and triathlons. She is married with two sons and two dogs. Together they enjoy hiking, skiing, fishing, camping. Denise is also active with ski patrol at Ski Cooper Ski Area in Leadville, Colorado.

Mary was born and raised in Ohio before moving to Colorado in 2001. She lives with her husband, Josh, and new daughter, Ellie, in Nederland. In her spare time she enjoys playing in the outdoors by running, hiking, camping, and cycling.

Mary White completed her Bachelors Degrees in Sports Medicine and became a Certified Athletic Trainer. She later returned to pursue her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. There she was able to do a clinical affiliation with an instructor of "When the Foot Hits the Ground", to gain valuable experience in that arena. She has taken numerous post-graduate courses in manual therapy and foot/ankle biomechanics, and completed her Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine. Mary treats a variety of diagnoses and particularly enjoys biomechanical assessments, fabricating orthotics, and foot/ankle injuries

 | Lee Brenann, MSPT
Lee Brennan grew up in Virginia and Maryland and then moved to Nederland, Colorado when she was in high school. She and her husband, Steve, enjoy many Colorado outdoor activities including skiing, biking, 4-wheeling and hiking fourteeners with their dogs. She has been practicing physical therapy since 1998.
Professional Training:
Lee received her B.A. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado - Boulder. She went on to graduate with her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1998 from the University on Colorado - Health Sciences Center.
She has continued her training with post-graduate coursework in manual therapy techniques, spine and work injury rehabilitation, orthopedics and sports physical therapy, and exercise training. Lee also completed her Pilates Instructor Certification in April 2003. |

Laura Shove is originally from Boulder, Colorado. She and her husband, Tim, have one son, Barclay, and one daughter, Madison. Laura enjoys distance running as well as mountain bike riding, hiking and skiing. Laura has been practicing Physical Therapy in the area since 1993.

Laura Shove received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri in 1992. She has many years of experience in orthopedics and received her Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine in 1999. Laura specializes in orthopedics, sports physical therapy, post-operative rehabilitation, treatment of headaches, work-injury rehabilitation, spine, and extremity injuries.

 | Kasey O'Leary, PT
Kasey O'Leary has been practicing physical therapy since 1994. Originally
from California, she received her BA from Stanford University and her
masters in physical therapy from Boston University. She has continued her
training with post-graduate courses in manual therapy for the spine and
extremities. Since moving to Boulder in 1999, Kasey has been practining
at North Boulder Physical Therapy where she sees a variety of patients
treating sports, orthopedic, post-operative, post MVA, postural dysfunction
and spinal problems.
Kasey became a massage therapist in 1987 and has been teaching Yoga since
1998. When she is not with her 2 little girls, Kasey swims with the Boulder
Masters team, cycles, practices Yoga and loves to cook.

Kelly was born and raised in Romeo Michigan before moving to Colorado in 2001. She lives with her husband Tim in Boulder. In her spare time she enjoys snowboarding, skiing, ice climbing, running, Mt Biking, backpacking, hiking, long boarding, wakeboarding, rock climbing, and Pilates.

Kelly Duda completed her Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology and minor in Psychology at Central Michigan University. She later returned to pursue her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. Kelly's experience is primarily orthopedics, neurological, and spine rehab. She has taken post-graduate courses in orthopedics, manual therapy, spine, and extremities. Kelly also has completed her Polestar Rehab Pilates certification.

 | Karen Cooper, MSPT
Karen is originally from Michigan but moved to Colorado Springs when she was 12. She graduated from Colorado State University in 1995 with a BFA in Dance. Her love of dance introduced her to the work of the Pilates method. Karen enjoys hiking, camping, dancing, and snowboarding as well.
Professional Training and Specialty:
In 1997, she became a certified Polestar Pilates practitioner. Pilates sparked her interest in physical therapy, which led Karen to pursue a Master of Science degree in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Karen was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do a clinical affiliation with the physical therapy department of Polestar Pilates and gained experience with a therapeutic approach to Pilates. In 2003, she returned to Colorado. She is a co-founder of the Pilates program at NBPT. Her physical therapy expertise lies in combining therapeutic exercise with manual therapy to teach each patient what to do at home to hasten their recovery from injury and pain.

Geoff is both a physical therapist and certified athletic trainer. He received his physical therapy training at The Ohio State University and started his physical therapy career in 2000. Geoff was five-time Big Ten Scholar Athlete while a member of the Varsity Lacrosse Team at OSU and graduated cum laude. After graduating, Geoff started his physical therapy career within the athletic department at The Ohio State University providing sports medicine care and rehabilitation services for varsity athletes. Geoff continued his education and professional training by finishing a two year athletic training internship at the Ohio State University and becoming National Athletic Trainer Associated certified athletic trainer. Presently, he is all but thesis for his masters of science in allied health management. His primary interests are shoulder, knee, and foot/ankle rehabilitation and biomechanics. He specializes in orthotic fabrication utilizing CAD/CAM software and athletic injury prevention/rehabilitation.
After leaving The Ohio State University, Geoff started working in an out patient physical therapy clinic in Ohio. Prior to leaving Ohio he was a clinic director and was responsible for the management of three outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinics. Concurrently, Geoff served as the head athletic trainer for the Columbus Landsharks of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and assistant trainer for the Columbus Stars of the United Hockey League (UHL). He also worked with local youth soccer clubs providing sports medicine coverage for tournament soccer including the 2004 State Cup. Geoff also provided sports medicine coverage for the 2002 FIFAWomen’s World Cup in Columbus, OH. He also served as a clinical instructor for the Ohio State University Athletic Training program and taught continuing medical courses at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
Geoff and his wife Julie decided to leave Columbus, OH in order to enjoy all of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer and to allow him to focus more on patient care. She has been practicing Occupational/ Hand Therapy since 1982, and came to Colorado in 1992. She currently works at North Boulder Physical Therapy at both 3000 Center Green and Boulder Medical Clinic, and at Coal Creek Physical Therapy in Louisville.

 | Don Gallotte, ATC
Don Gallotte received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Whitworth College in 1982. He then received a Master of Science in Anatomy and Athletic Training from the University of Oregon and became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 1985. Don spent 3 years working at a high school in the Seattle area providing care for interscholastic athletes. He has been working at North Boulder Physical Therapy since the fall of 1988, primarily focusing on the post-injury and post-surgery rehabilitation of legs and arms to enable people to safely return to their activities of interest. Each year he attends symposiums, conferences, seminars and other continuing education courses to further his knowledge and skills for patient care. He has assisted in some past local high school athletic activities. He has also been an Anatomy Lab assistant with the Physical Therapy program at Regis University.
Don is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers' Association (RMATA), and the Colorado Athletic Trainers' Association (CATA).

Jill Prouty national certified massage therapist is originally from the great state of Vermont and has lived in Boulder since October 2006. She enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, traveling, good food, the Red Sox and randomly reciting facts about Vermont.
Professional Training: Jill graduated from Ithaca College in 2006 with a B.S in Clinical Science/Physical Therapy. She then moved to Colorado and attended the

At North Boulder PT Nga is responsible for insurance correspondences and much of the background work in the office. |
