North Boulder/Layne Physical Therapy provides the highest quality of physical therapy care in Golden, Colorado and is owned by Ted Layne, Physical Therapist and Debra Layne, Physical Therapist. In addition to being a Physical Therapist, Ted is the only certified athletic trainer and the former head trainer at the University of Colorado. Both Ted and Debra see patients as well as administrate the clinics. They are hands-on owners and welcome emails and phone calls. Their philosophy of clinic operation is over-the-top service by expert and personable staff.
Debra J. Layne, PT
Clinic Owner/Senior Physical Therapist/Certified Pilates Instructor
Debra Layne is originally from Oklahoma and moved to Colorado in 1977. She married a classmate and physical therapist, Ted Layne. She has two sons, Todd and Scott. Ms. Layne, PT enjoys flying as a private pilot, as well as skiing, hiking, reading and travel. She has been practicing physical therapy in Boulder since 1977. She is a member of Rotary and has served on the Board of Directors for Impact on Education.
Medical Training and Specialty: She received her degree from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in Physical Therapy in 1975. In 1992 she was acknowledged as the PHYSICAL THERAPIST OF THE YEAR by the Colorado Physical Therapy Association. Ms. Layne, PT is specialized in orthopedic physical therapy, post-operative rehabilitation, sports physical therapy, work injury rehabilitation, vestibular (balance and dizziness) rehabilitation, TMJ treatment, treatment of headaches, peripheral neuropathy treatment, and orthotics for the feet. She has attended well over 175 post-graduate courses in physical therapy and has lectured and taught courses for other physical therapists. She is a BASI Certified Pilates Instructor.
Professional Affiliations: Ms. Layne is a past-President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. She is currently President of Colorado Physical Therapy Network. Ms. Layne is the Managing Member and Owner of North Boulder Physical Therapy providing therapeutic services at two locations: 3000 Center Green Drive, Suite 110 and at 2750 Broadway in the Boulder Medical Center. With her husband, Ted Layne, PT, she owns Layne Physical Therapy in Golden, CO.

Ted Layne, PT, ATC
Senior Staff Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer Physical Therapist for the University of Colorado Athletic Department
Ted is both a physical therapist and an athletic trainer. He started his ATC career at West Texas University (1976-1977). He then became the Head Athletic Trainer for the University of Colorado (1977-1983). Ted founded Flatirons Physical Therapy (1983-1997) and then started DIA Physical Therapy (1997 to present). Ted and Debra Layne are the owners of Layne Physical Therapy in Golden, CO (2000-present).
Ted has served as a trainer for CU, the Olympics, Pro Rodeo, and numerous other groups. He enjoys working with child athletes and has coached baseball and basketball teams.
He evaluates and treats a variety of orthopedic and sports patients at North Boulder Physical Therapy three days a week (2002-present). He specializes in PT for the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, ankle, neck, back, and post-operative care. Total joint replacement rehabilitation is a special interest. Anodyne Therapy for orthopedic conditions is another new area of expertise for him. Ted evaluates and treats athletes at the University of Colorado Athletic Department on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Master of Science in Physical Therapy
John received a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1991 and a MS Physical Therapy from Washington University, St. Louis in 1995.
John evaluates and treats a variety of orthopedic and sports injuries at Layne Physical Therapy, LLC four days a week. He specializes in treating and devising custom self-management programs for Physical Therapy clients that have foot, ankle, knee, hip, back, neck, shoulder, elbow, hand and post-operative problems. John’s main goal is to help clients achieve their Physical Therapy goals and maintain them through continued performance of their custom home exercise programs. John has a special interest in lower extremity biomechanics and performs evaluations and castings for custom foot orthoses.
John is a native of Colorado and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children along with pursuing outdoor adventures.
John DeSiato, MS, PT
Lori moved to Colorado in 2004 and enjoys time with her husband and young daughter.
Lori Snow, PT, MS OCS
Shannon joined Layne Physical Therapy in 2012. She is responsible for running the administrative side of our clinic. She brings years of experience to her job and uses her skill set to make sure that our patients are scheduled and to keep up with the various insurance coverages.
Shannon is a Colorado native and enjoys watching her teenage sons play baseball and hiking with her friends.
Shannon Ruiz, Office Manager
Brooke has worked in orthopedic outpatient clinics in the metro Denver area during her career, and specializes in post operative rehab of many orthopedic conditions of the knee, hip, ankle, shoulder and spine. She also enjoys working with clients who have balance and neurological conditions. Brooke takes several continuing education courses a year to further her knowledge and skills as a PTA, is trained from Kinesio University in Kinesiotaping methods, and currently studying to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Brooke’s goals are educating her clients on their conditions and providing the tools necessary to return to an active and full way of life, no matter how young or old.
Brooke is a Golden, CO native who lives in Genesee with her husband and two dogs and enjoys the typical Colorado activities such as camping, fishing, skiing and anything else that gets her outdoors.
